Archive for the ‘Off-Day’ Category

Last workout of the week! The soreness is pretty much gone and this workout wasn’t as bad as it was Day #2. I felt like I did much better this time around. Still couldn’t hang with the trainers in the video (but they couldn’t hang either!).  The only exercise I really had a difficult time with was the final circuit which includes the Level 1 Drills, Ski Abs, and In & Outs. Level 1 Drills can be brutal and always seem to push me over the edge. Felt very good about finishing the first week. My body has been feeling nice and tight… haven’t felt bloated or nasty.

Today (Sunday) was my Off-Day which luckily happened to be the same day as Father’s Day (which, by the way, Happy Father’s Day to all you Dads out there). I knew that I was going to give myself a little reward as far as food goes today because I had such a strong week but I think I may have gone a little too far. I went crazy on a loaf of bread and had two bowls of Jambalaya that we made for my girlfriend’s Dad (p.s. we make the best Jambalaya you’ve never/ever had, hands down). I also had a shortcake with apples and butter pecan ice cream… ouch! It’s okay though – I plan on having another really strong week and working really hard. While the week will be complicated by things going on at work that are not worth discussing here, I don’t plan on letting it get in the way of this program and my health. Hopefully, I can use the Insanity workouts as a release from the stress that is inevitable at work this week instead of binging on food (can’t let that happen!).

Anyway, I’ll be back tomorrow for the beginning of Week #2 and Cardio Power & Resistance!

Later! Keep digging deeper!

So, tomorrow marks the first day of my journey to get back in control of my health and my body. I can’t tell you how excited I am. This time, I’ll be embarking on the journey with a few coworkers and friends in an attempt to keep each other motivated. I’m really hoping they stick with it as having someone you see everyday that is making the same commitment will help to make sure I’m not slacking off. That being said – they don’t know what they’re in for! I can’t wait to hear their reactions after they do their first Insanity workout (Plyometric Cardio Circuit – Tuesday).

Get Fit Or Get Out

Get Fit Or Get Out!!! (just kidding... you can stay)

You see, I’ve done it before. In fact, I got quite far the first time I attempted to do the Insanity program – three and a half weeks to be exact. It was incredible; I hadn’t felt better in a long, long time. Not only did I lose 20 lbs., but I felt better mentally, I wasn’t feeling bloated, I felt accomplished, proud and my confidence improved. Unfortunately, I had to put the program on hold because the end of my last semester of college picked up and I had lots of deadlines and studying to do. Not to mention, I also had family in town for my graduation for a few days. I assume I could have picked up where I left off before I stopped but… it just didn’t feel right. I wanted to get the full “Insanity Experience.” I didn’t want to cheat the program.

So, here I am – the night before. I suppose it would be a good to outline what I hope to accomplish from Insanity and where I would like to be when it’s all said and done.

Goals:

  • Weight: 220 lbs (Current Weight: 250 lbs.)
  • BMI: 25 (Current BMI: 28.9)
  • Pack: 6 (Current Pack: 1)

I also plan on coming back at a later time and inserting (for record) some body measurements to see how those change.

Now, I know losing 30 lbs. in 2 months probably seems like a pretty irrational goal BUT, with Insanity, proper nutrition and a little help from Shakeology, there is no doubt in my mind that it can be done.

So, with all that being said… tomorrow is the day where Shaun T. and I get down to business. I will be back tomorrow to discuss the Fit Test and post my results to keep a record of how they change (because they will change). If there is anyone out there reading this that is doing Insanity, interested in Insanity or just wants to stay on my butt about getting this thing done, I would love to have you subscribe and leave some comments below. It would be nice to know there are people reading.

See you tomorrow.
